Opportunities for Partnerships

BFAR was founded with the core mission of addressing systemic challenges and providing uplifting opportunities for Black Communities and youths at risk. Following the unfortunate incident leading to the death of a young Black Canadian, Orlando Brown, in June 2018, BFAR was established out of a collective desire for societal change and youth empowerment. 

Since its inception, BFAR has expanded its objectives to include supporting those facing socio-economic barriers, promoting community trust, and providing educational and mentorship opportunities.

BFAR's Impactful Initiatives

Our initiatives such as the BFAR CLUB PROJECT aim at deterring youths from criminal activities through mentorship programs starting from elementary levels to college students. This project enhances positive community engagement and discourages involvement in detrimental lifestyles. 

Additionally, we have established the BFAR Activity Centre as a hub for community information, employment search, educational advancement, and more, serving also as a welcoming space for immigrants of African descent. 

This center supports the empowerment of the Black Community, thereby contributing significantly to the elimination of socioeconomic disparities and fostering a cohesive society.

The Need for Support

Despite our successes, the scope of challenges facing at-risk youths and marginalized communities remains vast. Our ability to sustain and expand our initiatives greatly depends on the support from sponsors, individual donors, companies, organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and banks. 

For instance, the BFAR CLUB PROJECT requires additional funds to include more participants, hire staff, and secure larger spaces for activities. Such expansions are vital for a more extensive impact and sustainability of the program. This is in addition to our need to maintain and upgrade the BFAR Activity Centre to better serve the community.

• Expanding our mentorship and educational programs.

• Enhancing the logistics and support for participants, including meals and transportation.
